The District Water Services Managers Forum (DWSMF), established in June 2004, emerged from the realization that district municipalities that are Water Services Authorities (WSAs) face unique challenges of ensuring the delivery of water services in vast geographical areas that are mainly rural, predominantly poor and with huge service backlogs within a policy context that is in a state of change. The forum is an opportunity that enables water services managers, with common interests, to come together to have quick access to information which they can use to improve their planning and service delivery arrangements, furthering the idea of ‘action-research’ and information sharing.
